The French president is a little unorthodox, but does this mean that he will end up with a lower approval rating than Bush?

I have very little sympathy for the French public because Sarkozy has not changed his 'management' style in any significant way. He has started to become more blatant in his disdain for the conventional norms of being a politician. They did vote for someone who offered change and that is exactly what he has offered. He may well end up with as low or a lower approval rating than Bush but I don't think that's a sure thing. Sarkozy acts with a serious lack of professional but so does Bush. Bush giving the German prime minister a back rub publicly is not something that I think is really very appropriate. Even if Sarkozy can lower his ratings to Bush's level, his international approval rating will never drop below Bush's.
