I think the Time article is exactly correct. Although "We" may have started the trend of blogging and other new technologies, "They" have made a very strong comeback and will continue pushing ahead without the detailed opinions of "Us." The autonomous world that Benkler speaks of does not take into account the willingness of the old media to change and adapt to the needs of the masses.
